+impact, Serco’s advisory business, has appointed Dr. Ian Mason to accelerate its growth in the nuclear sector, as demand increases across new build, decommissioning and operational support.
Ian joins with extensive experience spanning nuclear operations, decommissioning, programme delivery and strategic oversight, most recently within the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. His background across site operations, supply chain delivery and programme assurance brings a practical, delivery-led perspective to some of the sector’s most complex challenges.
With a doctorate in Environmental Radiochemistry, Ian combines deep technical expertise with strong programme and project leadership. His appointment strengthens +impact’s ability to support clients in programme delivery, operational transformation and resilience management.
Ian’s experience strengthens +impact’s ability to support clients across some of the sector’s most complex challenges. He has led major clean-up and hazard reduction programmes at Capenhurst and led programme assurance at the Sellafield site, contributing to key milestones including the completion of 60 years of fuel reprocessing, reactor defueling and securing government approval for two major infrastructure projects ahead of schedule.
In his new role, Ian will focus on expanding +impact’s presence across nuclear, supporting both new build and decommissioning programmes. Initially focused on the UK, his remit will contribute to building a broader international footprint as the business continues to grow.
